FAMILY PLUS Children's - January 19

Hey everyone!

No matter how big the barrier God wants to guide you. That's the "heart and soul" of our message in Kidstuf this week. Sometimes we have great barriers in front of us; however, God, the creator of all things, can easily move us through those barriers. That's exactly what he has done in my life over the past month while trying to plan and implement a KidzDays camp in East Tennessee. God has rewritten my plan of action and shaped it into a better plan. That's exactly what he does with Gideon in this week's lesson too.

Here are the details:

Scripture: Judges 6-8 (Gideon)
Life Application: I can trust God to guide me!
Memory Verse: “Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.” Deuteronomy 13:4
Prayer for the Nations: Philippines - Allergy Alert: This week we are trying dried mangos, banana chips from the Philippines. Mmmmm! Also, you will have the option for your children to try a "Shrimp Chip" when you pick them up. Due to shellfish allergies you will have the option of getting a bag for your kids and giving it to them yourself.

In our prayers, we often ask God to guide us, and we fail to put any action behind that plea. For instance, we may ask God to help provide more money for our family, but do we seek for higher paying jobs or alternative ways to make money? Or we may ask God to make our relationship with our child better, but do we intentionally spend more time with the child to gradually build up the relationship? That is what this month's parent challenge is about! We often pray for God to "protect our children", but do we take steps to ensure their safety. Often times we do in the physical world as we know it (look both ways before crossing the street, say "no" to strangers); however, their world is becoming less physical and more digital. Protect them in the world that they live in by speaking to your spouse and creating an internet policy now for your child. We've tried to help you out by providing a clear way. Click here to see that "clear way" in detail!
