FAMILY PLUS Children's - May 26

Hey everyone!

Summer is quickly approaching us! I know that you are getting your plans together for vacations, etc. Make sure that you include the following in your plans:

Summer Jam (4yrs old - 5th grade): June 11-15, 9am-12:30pm Lunch Provided at no cost
KidzDays in the Glade: July 9-13, 9am-3pm, cost $45
Here are the details for this week:

Scripture
: Matthew 4:18-22; 9:9-13; Mark 1:16-20; 2:13-14; 3:13-19
Life Application: I can learn from Jesus how to live.
Memory Verse:  “Since He himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested." Hebrews 2:18
Prayer for the Nations: Slovakia (We are trying sweet cabbage rolls from Slovakia this week. Rolls filled with a stuffing made of sweetened cabbage.)

This week with your kids I'm going to be stressing that Jesus called common everyday people to come follow him and live like him. The "big idea" that I am going to try to communicate is that your kids are being called by God too. God has made their feet to fit a specific path, and he has authored that path. Don't forget that as parents this week! Let me encourage you to continue diving in and getting to know your kids on a deeper level by asking questions. This will help you understand what path their feet were meant to walk upon.

FAMILY PLUS Children's - May 17

Hey Everyone!

Thanks for putting up with me during "big church" on Sunday morning. I had a blast being with you guys, but did miss your kids a little bit, especially since it was their first Sunday in the Big Backyard! I have been working on and planning Sunday's time in there and am very excited to be able to use the technology and space for the first time.

That room is functional, but there are still many details to finish up. If you have some free time (day or evening) please think about how you can come up and serve. Just send me an email with your availability and I will get you taken care of. (jnorris@gladevillechurch.org)

Here are the details for the week:

Scripture:  Matthew 4:1-11 (Jesus was Tempted)
Life Application:  With God's help, I can say no to temptation.
Memory Verse: “Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.” Hebrews 2:18
Prayer for the Nations: Slovakia

Don't forget that your kid's will be tempted too just like our Savior was. Be reminded that it is our job to help show them the path they are to walk, and not settle for giving them a direction in life only. Make sure that you spend quantity time with your children in order to help uncover how unique they are. This will help us as parents guide them to their God-given path.

Summer Reminders:
Summer Jam - June 11-15 - 9am-12:30pm - Sign up at any info center to serve or attend!
KidzDays in the Glade - July 9-13 - 9am-3pm - Sign ups are coming soon!

FAMILY PLUS Children's - May 11

Hey everyone!

I have some exciting news for you! We will be in our new children's worship room called "The Big Backyard" this Sunday. I couldn't think of a better time to enter that room than on Mother's Day.

Make sure you don't let your kids miss out on the new room. It's been completely designed to enhance their worship experience and has been tailored to fit various learning styles. Don't miss out!

Here are the details for this coming week:
Scripture: Luke 1:1-25, 57-80; 3:1-22; John 1:19-37; Matthew 3:13-17 (John the Baptist and Jesus' Baptism)
Life Application: I can follow Jesus' example of how to live.
Memory Verse: “Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.” Hebrews 2:18
Prayer for the Nations: Slovakia

Your challenge this month has 2 parts:
1) Come up and visit the new worship room. Check it out! We still have a lot of detail to complete in the coming weeks, but we are up and functional.
2) Begin thinking about how your child is intentionally made. God made your child a certain way on purpose, so make a list of what you see that is unique in your child. This will begin to help you see how they are a Masterpiece and a part of God's plan.
